Well, no remembered dreams lately , which is a good thing because I think that there is nothing more boring than hearing about others dreams, especially if they are a) not about you b) weird or c) only mean something to that person.

My role as head tomatoe and codewanker for the whole UF thing is increasing. While Illiad (the bastard) is lounging around in europe with large breasted scandinavian women fawning all over him, I get to update the site, cartoons, etc. Of course, controlling the site will be fun too :-). Ok, I promise not to put the doctored pics of him in bondage gear up right away. I was going to write an update script for him, but apparently another guy (Foot_Note) beat me too it. I think that if it works I owe him a big thing of thanks. If it breaks everything of course, I'll have to administer a beating :-)

Things have been busy here lately. I have about 3 terminals open with code in them, waiting to be finished up.... or started. Hopefully tonight and this weekend I'll have some time to finish up the code and a couple of new pages I want to throw up. I got a suggestion for a page for Cornelious, and I think I could make a really funny/cute one (playboy format, turn ons, turn offs, etc). It's just finding the time to do it.

Mental note: Don't forget to update UF every night. Forgetting would be a bad thing.

I'm going to be going to the auto show this weekend with some friends. I'll be missing (darn gee whiz) the Motely Crue concert that I was invited with. This is all taking away precious coding time mind you, but hey, such is life.

Hmm.... oh yea, the excersie thing. I havne't noticed any weight loss (unless the weight I'm losing is being turned into muscle, but that's ok), but I think that my arms are getting back up there for climbing. Drinking water all day and going to bed at a reasonable hour is actually making me feel better. I just need another 8 hours or so tacked onto the day for extra sleep. Running still sucks though <g>. Here is some things I've learned that I felt like I should pass on.

  • Don't stop. No, really, don't. Even though every logical bit of your brain says that it would feel good to stop, and it would be good to stop, it's wrong. I made the mistake of stopping to tie my shoelace and discovered that my legs stopped working when I started moving again.
  • Running at night is nice, as long as the cars are coming from behind. This allows you to actually see where you are going from the headlights.
  • Cars coming from ahead of you is a bad thing... blinding someone who can't see where they are going is not suggested.
  • If you wear glasses, you'll find that you have an extra incentive to keep running... if you stop or slow down (remember what I said about stopping?) they fog up, making it even harder to see.
  • I'd include a picture of the route that I run, but it would just be a black square. Rumor has it that it's actually a nice country road, but I don't think I've ever seen it in the daylight.
  • Running with a clear sky is nice... just point yourself at the moon or a star and keep going.
  • Why is there someone that keeps on honking at me when they drive by me? Unless they mistake me for a pretty female runner (not likely in my baggy green sweats and grad sweatshirt), or a sexy male runner (again, I'm anything but attractive while panting along).

Weird. Another remembered dream. This one even stranger (well, maybe). I ended up at work early for some reason (like an hour early), and started doing my work, which wasn't programming, but was in fact moving stacks of National Geographics either from storage or two storage. But we had to only move the ones before 1930, because 1930 was a special year for the company (???). Our salesperson was there too, riding a horse back and forth with the NGs. The boss was wondering what the hell I was doing at work so early, and of course I didn't know, and said something about my alarm going off early.

I wonder if someone's slipping some crack into the water I'm drinking or something?

Talk about weird dreams. Last night I had a wacky dream, possibly brought on by drugs (except I didn't do any). I dreamt that I woke up and my dad was here, getting my roommates fiance to tailor him a jacket or suit. For some reason my roomate also suddenly had more and better computer equipment than I (some wack ass seat thing with space age like bells and whistles all over it). Not only that but in my dream I was late for work already, and they were laughing at me because of it. I woke up in real life because I thought I was already late for work to find that I still had 30 min of sleep left. whew. Oh yea, and in my dream I returned from bombing russia in a modified B-52 bomber, and was sneaking contraband back into the country (this part, minus the contraband stuff, obviously came from the book Flight of the Old Dog, which I'm currently reading.

Oh also, I got a mention on a ramblings page. The author (Sonya) had many nice things to say about me (she used one of my poems on the page. I also made it onto her list of Sex in a Can (#4 whohooo!).

Whew, long time no update eh? Well, I've been pretty busy, so I have an excuse (or so I think).

We (me, the boss, and Rob, a bud of ours from the school) were at the Linux World Expo from the 28th to the 4th or so. This was an awsome show, and you can read about it all at my LWE page (soon to be updated).

Person status:

Good... I'm on another health kick, so I'm running around my 2 blocks and working out on alternating days. Hell, even drinking lots of water and trying to cut out coke/junk food as much as I can. I only started last sunday so I can't say I can see any results yet. I do want to get in shape though, I've been in a coding chair for far too long.

I have to thank my buddy Illiad for the following tips on running, and how not to kill oneself:

  • Go a minimum of 3 times a week
  • 1 day on, one day off
  • Never skip more than 2 days
  • Start with about a 30 min run
  • Break this into segments of 2.5 minutes for the first 3-4 times
  • 1 segment run, one walk. The walking should be hard walking, and the running should be so you can still talk
  • Then move on to 3 min run, 2 min walk for the next 3-4 times
  • Eventually you'll be going the full half hour
  • First time you do this, break it up to 2 15 min runs and a 30 second walk
  • If it hurts, slow, but don't walk
And for general health:
  • Drink lotsa water, 8 cups a day minium
  • Urine should be clear, it's darkness is an indicator of the toxins in your body

Well, that's what was suggested, and I'm doing my best. The water is flowing like, well, water. I had my first coke in about 4 days today, and that was only one. I have a 12 pack in the fridge that is opened, but not drank. There is one that I carry around sometimes as a security blanket, but never drink.

What else has been happening in my life? Well the last couple of days were spent fighting with isdn4linux at work, only to discover the chipset on the card we had was unsupported. Bleah. I've got a lot of work on my plate, but I have a plan, and just need time to do it (as always).

Other noted events in my life. Hmm.... romance? Well, I'd rather not say right now. Lets just say I must be mad. Quite mad. Looney even. If you don't get it, don't worry, it's not that important.

I'll say no more on that.

Ok, linux expo, I think I'll go and do an update or 2 on that page before I forget all about it.
