Hi there. Just wanted to ask a couple of questions to you guys, as the #nvidia people have tried and tried, but nothing seemed to work :) But first... great card! My geforce2 gts rocks! (under windows) 2d under linux is very sweet as well. My system is as follows: - k7-900, kt133 a7v mobo - 384 mb ram - sb live using the latest drivers from opensource.creative.com - x 4.0.1 - distrobution is debian (unstable) - WM is icewm or sawfish (helix gnome) - Kernel 2.4.0-test12 - default color depth at 16 or 24 - no high CPU temps were noted Symtoms: After starting to play q3 (or soldier of fortune) the game will lock up after about 10 seconds. When going in the menus it's all fine, the freeze only uccurs when the game is in gl mode. The system doesn't lock up hard though, I can telnet in and killall -9 quake3.x86. Things I've done: I installed the .95 nvidia drivers from nvidia.com. Kernel was compiled without the agpgart module, and without CONFIG_DRI. I compiled the NVIDIA_kernel with "make BUILDOPTIONS=NOAGPGART" It loads into the kernel just fine (no messages are sent to syslog). Most remenants of the mesag3 package were removed. libGLU* were left in but the libGL.* and libglx and libGLcore (for X) are all from the NVIDIA_GLX package. So after bashing my head against the wall for a while I still get any different results than a game lock up :( In short... please help!
