I have been thinking about getting a joystick lately, and as I had the Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 I kinda figured I’d get that. On a whim I decided to see what people had to say about it online, and prices for different stores, and what other options I have for a good USB joystick with rudder and throttle control.
I usually trust epinions.com (in as much as you can “trust” any online source) so I went there and searched for that product. Very interesting results.
The first entry had two entries, neither of which was glowing, and an overall rating of 2 out of 5 stars (1 out of 5 and 3 out of 5). The second entry, for the same product (slightly different version or product number, has 8 reviews, all of which give it 5 out of 5 starts except for one 4 out of 5.
I’m not saying there’s a conspiracy out there, or that there is Microsoft astroturfing or anything, I’m just saying…
The logitech one seems ok, but I guess it’ll depend on how it feels in my hands (in store testing baby!).
