Well I saw Doom last night. I knew it was going to be bad, and I went anyway, and it was great(ly bad) 🙂 Don’t go in there expecting anything more than a fun space romp, monsters jumping out at you, a storyline thinner than uhmm… something really thin, and big guns blowing stuff up.
The funniest part of the night was as I was walking back to the car after the movie I got a call from Iambe, who had just got out of seeing Doom as well, and was calling to tell me to go and see it. That was hilarious. We both left with a hankering to play some Doom-the-game, and luckily the source code is open source and there are lots of projects out there using it and re-creating the original game with many nifty new features. However, the closest game experience to Doom-the-movie would have to be Doom 3 (-the-game). Will have to let myself get sucked back into that one again soon.
