Some strangeness on ufies last night. All my inbox dissapeared, and then I got an email from a guy saying that his had gone too. Very strange, lucky I had backups. Course, due to limited hard drive space I only have room for a couple. I’ve implemented a dual system now, where backups go to my home system (fishbowl), and at the same time go to a local directory on ufies.org. Course, the local directory won’t do much if the box goes down (but it won’t knock wood), but it’ll help when someone says “My mail got deleted last month.” Right now I have one month of backups going to the local directory, and four days going to the remote system. I’m hoping that I can find another cheap hard drive somewhere, or find some nice person (wim didn’t tell me to bugger off, so that’s a good sign 🙂 to lend me a shell and some space 🙂
Came back from my run this morning to find an email from the guy who is in charge of the ASP project saying “lets get together and meet this morning at 9 for an hour.” I got this at 10 of course. That’s what I get for not checking my mail until I get back from the gym.
Speaking of the gym, I changed my routine a bit today on K’s suggestion. My body seems to be getting used to running, so I only did 30 minutes at 6.5mph then switched over to one of those wierd eliptical trainer thingies for another 15 min or so. We’ll see how that goes.
Speaking of having strange children running around the house (ok, bad segway), Firefly’s brothers girlfriend dropped her kid off this morning, so most of the day so far we’ve had an 8(?) year old running around the house, terrorizing the cats, and getting lego everywhere. Ok, it’s not that bad, he’s actually a pretty cool kid. Not sure what the cats think of him though (other than “the new stupid monkey that left the door open so we escaped for a few seconds before the other stupid monkey closed it”).
Update: and wim da man has come through with a shell and some hard disk space to store my peeps’ files. Thanks Wim!
