This is a rant regarding the new Apple release of a new online music store, a new sexy iPod, and the new iTunes music program. Sorry for the language, feel free to correct me if I’m wrong about anything here.
Goddamn those fucking bastards. They were about this -><- close to
being the coolest company on the face of the fucking planet and they
just screwed it up.
SUPPORT OGG VORBIS = FUCKING BASTARDS
Sure, have another music format that can only be played on a mac, that’s
fine, just about as useful as WMV, and you can see how many of those are
being shared vs. the same # of mp3s.
I’m sure that’s what they are
trying avoid, with the logic of “open formats are easily traded”. We
know how well that’s worked though.
Ogg is the way to go you bastards,
it’s open, license free, and has a wealth of things going for it,
including it’s been around for a while now, and yet you choose something
that (gee gosh) only is only available from one place.
Fucknuts. I was going to buy an iPod as well, I really was, after
seeing the new ones I though, “hmm…. income tax refund”, but if they
aren’t going to support Ogg yet, Fuck ’em.
