All About Xen
Linux has a article on Xen, a virtualization system similar to user mode linux, which I did a report on a while back. Xen is used by Unixshell, a company that provides web hosting on virtual machines (no affiliation with them, just noting they use the same tech).
Here’s a link to some Xen multi-distros-running-all-at-once screenshot goodness.
Anyway, good article, Xen is something I want to check out in the near future. Link to Xen and Gentoo HOWTO.
Yeah, Zen is cool… they also have a live demo CD.
I tried hard to run Xen on a personal server (accessed via serial console over LAN) but it just didn’t want to boot. Never did manage to find a way to obtain more useful debugging information after booting from Grub into Xen.
XEN is best piece of os-software in last year, IMHO. Just to point to 2 things:
There is an knoppix live cd with xen preconfigured[1].
There is an nice howto for consolidating small networks on one box[2]
