I know I’ll regret it but I got sucked in to the Kickstarter videos and reviews of the Sidekick Pro from Clever Supply. I think I must have bought a strap or something from them at some point cause I don’t follow a whole lot of kickstarters and get marketing spam about them. I honestly thought this was a Peak Design product when I saw the product, it was only a little way into the intro video that I noticed the different logo and shoulder strap.
However … it’s a small bag designed for a small camera kit. My current Peak Design Everyday Sling bag is a bit big for taking my X100 out, or my XH2 with a lens and maybe an extra lens out. It’s great for a bigger load, like a big zoom and a couple of primes, plus the usual cadre of batteries, case of SD cards, etc, but swallows up any smaller gear.
I guess the theory is that if I had a small bag for just the X100 (or similar) I’d be more apt to take it out because it’ll be in a camera bag and not hanging on my arm, and the bag won’t be a big monster CAMERA BAG but just a camera bag.
They aim for delivery in February so will see when it gets here if I completely regret it. The cost is “only” $133 so that’s not horrible the grand scheme of things I guess.
