My Road To Vista Part 1

I recently got a (legit even!) copy of Windows Vista and decided to check it out slowly. When I got my new system I got dual hard drives, and the second one hasn’t really been used yet, so I can install a new OS and migrate over at whatever pace I need to without losing […]

Flood!

Dear universe, please stop hatin’ on me. Please? Working at home today, oblivious under head phones when at 5 or so (just in time for me to not be interrupted from work thankyouverymuch) Firefly noticed a squooshing that wasn’t supposed to be there. The old copper washer that was securing the connection from the copper

Updating the Hard Drive on your Mindstor Digital Wallet

Did a little project for ArcterDad, upgrading the laptop hard drive in a digital wallet he had from the 2G it came with with a nice new (used) 20G drive. The FizzBuzz Test

I took it to make sure I wasn’t a crappy comp-sci grad who couldn’t program and discovered happily I could. Took just under four minutes to complete, though part of the extra time was I forgot how the ‘%’ operator

Morning Procedure

Man windows, or maybe just my computer, can be weird at times. When I get in the office I have to…. Turn the power on to both monitors…. not out of sleep but a full power on (I think $coworker might be at fault for turning them off though) Hit ctrl-alt-del to get my windows

A Productive Week and Weekend

Surprisingly, last week ended very nicely. A couple of big projects at work were finally put to bed, and I even got all my timesheets up to date before leaving. Also this weekend I got the bulk of work done on a website Content Management System (CMS) that I’ve been (re)writing for a contract job.
