Well, I wish I could write something more elequant, but apparently my little kitten has gone into heat for the first time. As she’s an indoor cat, living with two neutered male cats we haven’t bothered to spay her (yet). Came home after dinner at the folks to a very talkative kitten, far more so than usual. I thought at first she was just really pissed off we didn’t let her out into the hall like she wanted, but no.
She’s wandering around talking in that “brrrrrr-row” noise she makes, getting herself all hunkered down to the ground and rolling around and nuzzling anything around her with her nose (hands, walls, other cats). I don’t think she quite understands what is going on, and Firefly refuses to have a “girl to girl” talk with her to explain the facts of life. The boys don’t seem to have much of a clue as to what is going on either, they just sort of lounge around and look at her, or jump down from their perches when she goes into a particularily loud/long barrage of talking. Apparently this can last from days to months. Wonder how I will sleep tonight.
Maybe we should let her loose, perhaps we’ll end up with some nice little grey kittens! Nah, probably not such a good idea, as we’re only supposed to have one cat here in the first place.
