Sucks To Be Me Today

… or at least that’s what Darren told me. Some odd random grinding noises last night turned into non-random grinding noises, so I dropped it by the mechanic that luckily is right by the place I park for work. Less than an hour later I get a call telling me that not only have my […]

115 Megapixels??

Does something like this Scanner Photography Project put the megapixel war to rest? 115 megapixels (with a 15 second to 5 minute “shutter” time). Pretty cool. Now I just need to find a spare old flatbed scanner to play with and some random large format camera bits off of ebay (or similar).

Why the Internet Sucks

Pages like this just piss me right off. To most of you this will probably show the Showtime US page with (I assume) information about my latest favorite TV show, Pen & Teller‘s “Bullshit!”. Sadly, when I view it, I get a page with this text: Sorry We at Showtime Online express our apologies; however,

New Hard Drive Space… Almost

Well, today I finally made the plunge of actually starting to set up the new hard drives I bought at Christmas. I played around a lot with EVMS and LVM under VMWareas a way to maintain the disks, and add or remove space (and devices) as needed. Basically the situation I have is this. I

Course, I still need to set up and learn all about studio lighting. In a related note, a post your digital darkroom thread is there with various

Welcome to 2006

Wow, a new year. 2006… oooohhhhh…. So what’s been going on lately? Christmas was relatively quiet. My family was all out of town in various warm places and/or not rainy places, so we spent time at home. It actually worked out well because I had some contract work to do, so being home was the

More Photo Retouching

The Art of Retouching, another good site to see just how different you can get those sexy airbrushed girls in the magazines to look before they are airbrushed. Pretty insane just how different the original version of what you look at in magazines as the “accepted” normal look is. Also seeing what parts they make
