Another Fantastic Sunrise

It’s mornings like these that make me not mind getting up so much. Click for larger. Both taken with my Canon A70 from the porch around 7:10. Very chilly out there in only shorts. The second pic isn’t quite as good as the first IMHO, you can see where it was stitched together. Unfortunately Canon’s […]

Pics of Potted Plants and Cats

Firefly has a nifty Apple Blossom or Amaryllis (hippeastrum) that’s been slowly growing from a potato shaped beast into what may be an actual real flower one day. I took some shots of it tonight (click for slightly larger version). Patches of course decided that she too wanted to be potted, and curled up for

Popular Photography Magazine has their review of the Pentax Digital *ist available for download. Basically they love it. I was a bit surprised reading the specs over at dpreview that it’s lowest ISO is 200, but the pictures come out quite nice, so I guess it’s not that big a deal. Quick and dirty pros

Film Won’t Die

…. at least not for a while. Scoble linked to a national geographic article and followed up with his opinion. Is film’s day coming to an end? The answer is clear: yes. I disagree, and not just because of the editorial in the front of January’s Popular Photography Magazine (which I’ve been meaning to write

Ten Years of Photography

Ten Years of My Life is one mans site to eventually document, via one photo a day, each day from his 31st to 41st years (and become a better photographer in the process). A very cool idea. Some more information about the project is here. Tig had some folks out here going on something similar
