Dual Dual Goodness

Well, not that sort of dual, but with the addition of an overpriced, and overly large wall-wart-ed power adapter, I now have both my Windows and Linux box with dual monitors. The KVM that doesn’t like wireless mouse from a few months ago gets it’s power from the ps/2 connection, but had a 9V connection

When Websites Go Bad

Ok, this is just bad. I’m looking for some info on server monitoring services and find noscito remote services and check it out. It’s got, well, a couple of big problems. the text on the main page that you enter on (from the google ad anyway) has frames (which is evil in it’s own way,

Need Sleep

Last couple of nights I haven’t been able to get to sleep, and end up out here on the computer until one or two am. Not good. I always am too hot, or too cold, or have too many things running through my mind and just have to aimlessly surf or do email or much

Don’t Bother Bringing Your Camera

In a fantastic example of keeping it’s citizens free from harm, the Ministry of Truth has once again fended off a potential Terrorist by kicking some random guy taking pictures off the street. Homeowner in 3… 2… 1…

Well, it’s almost all done. I was in the lawyers office today signing the final papers, and writing the largest check I’ve ever written (well, actually getting the largest certified check I’ve ever had). Also signed myself into the largest amount of money I’ve ever owed, lots of fun. But in three or so days

GMailFS

Very cool…. this is a bit old but someone wrote a system where you could use your GMail webmail accounts (still some available, email me or post a message if you want one of the 6 I still have) as a remote filesystem for Linux. GmailFS allows standard UNIX file operations (read, write, symlink, etc)

Panorama Software For Linux

A nice article on creating panoramic views using Hugin, Enblend and The Gimp appeared on LinuxFocus.org, which shows pretty much what the title says. Not a complete look at all the tools available I don’t think, but it has the major ones. I’ve never heard of enblend as well, have to go and check that

My Windows Rants for the Night

Installing an application from Office should not replace my current default email program settings, and replace the icon in my start menu with that of Outlook. That’s rude. I know that MS wants me to use nothing but it’s products, but please, that just pisses me off. Windows Media Player 10 should: Know if there
