As my computer friends may know, I’m always looking for eye candy. Back in the day I was using Enlightenment (come to think of it I think they are still at the same version number as back in 1999….. smirk), love theming, and if I see a nice looking font/icon theme/whatever I’ll happily grab it

Some random desktop eye candy for ya’ll. Got my system running XGL, the latest and greatest in Linux eye candy, allowing all sorts of funky effects. Tonight I found a nice icon set, background, and compiz theme which I thought I’d show off. Yes, for ironic content I used the Vista theme (though it does

Saw some sample images from the Pentax DA 10-17mm fisheye zoom today…. looks like a fun lens to play with… under $500 USD as well (ugh)… Still, I’m adding it to the wishlist. There was a review of it in the latest PopPhoto. Apparently there aren’t a lot of fisheye zooms around.

Every once and a while I have to say that politicians impress me. Mostly it’s with dumb decisions…. this time though, it’s the opposite. Seems that our PM Stephen Harper is aiding evacuation from Lebanon for Canadians in his plane. Now if I was Prime Minister I’d probably be taking the private jet down to

Talk about just in time. I’ve been loading my 21,000+ images into IDImager, a desktop photo organizing/tagging application after becoming frustrated with the slow speed of Adobe Elements when loaded with said images. After clicking about a million annoying info messages about misplaced somethings-or-others in my PNG images, it finally displayed to me….. An empty
